Richard Arnold Jackson, Born May 2, 1931, in Camden, New Jersey. Better known as Richard “Groove” Holmes, he was an american jazz organist.
Holmes was influenced by saxophone players, like a lot of organists. He mainly played two styles of jazz, soul-jazz and jazz-funk. He’s worked with various jazz artists such as Jimmy McGriff, Houston Person, Idris Muhammad, Weldon Irvine and many more. Holmes died June 29, 1991, St. Louis, Missouri. He left a legacy of great music for people to adore.
