Richard Lofthouse Butler, born June 5, 1956, is a singer, songwriter and painter. He is best known as the lead singer and co-founder for The Psychedelic Furs. In the 1990s, during a hiatus from the Furs, he founded the alternative rock band Love Spit Love with his younger brother Tim (a bassist for the Furs). In 2006, he released the solo album Richard Butler.
