Richard Theodore Otcasek, also known as Ric Ocasek (March 23, 1949 – September 15, 2019) was a producer, songwriter, singer, and guitarist born in March, 1949. He was best known for being a founding member and rhythm guitarist of The Cars. He released his first solo album in 1982. Ocasek was also known for producing several hit albums, including three of alt-rock band Weezer’s albums.
