Remi Kabaka Jr.

It might be easier to list what Nigerian drummer Remi Kabaka doesn’t do: aside from co-producing Gorillaz’s Humanz and The Now Now, he also provides the voice of Russel, the band’s stoic drummer. He works closely with Damon Albarn of Gorillaz, given their long history together–Kabaka used to live with Albarn’s partner, Suzi, and Albarn and Kabaka were friends ever since.

Before Gorillaz, Kabaka worked with Bobby Womack making beats.

Kabaka’s diverse resume doesn’t end there–he’s also created visuals for M.I.A., made a history documentary with Eliza Doolittle, and serves as the gallery manager for Lazarides Gallery in London. Source
