Born in South Korea, REBENN has been drawn to music from a young age, with his first love being opera. Throughout middle and high school in New Zealand, he learned classical cello, passed ABRSM grade 8 as a certified cellist, and taught himself piano.

Despite having a record of his first produced hip hop song reaching Semi-Finalist in International Songwriting Competition, and later Community Pick Winner of Splice Remix Content, he stopped making music for a while as he had to serve under United Nations Peace Keeping Force Mission in South Sudan, Africa. One day, after experiencing an impromptu music making session from a Sudanese student, he saw how what had first drawn him to it depended not on high tech gear or big studios but on lyrics, melody, and emotion. On leaving the army, he threw himself back into creating, and his first single, Ghost in My Mind, was accepted by two big YouTube promotion channels and other social media influencers who are willing to promote. REBENN continues to practice his production and songwriting as he pulls together influences as wide ranging as classical melodicism and natural flow into fresh but accessible pop music which manages to be both timeless and surprising. It has only been a year and half since he started producing which is another astounding aspect of his musical journey.
