About Rasputina

Formed by Melora Creager in 1991, Rasputina is an American alternative/historical music ensemble and noted as the first cello-only rock group. Melora has been joined by many other cellists over the years as the group performs live but she remains the heart and soul of the band. Through 19 recordings, Melora has explored many historical events and personages through songs, with particular focus on the Victorian era. In 2018, Melora is currently joined with Polly Panic as second cellist/backing vocalist and Luis Mojica as keyboardist/backing vocalist while on tour.
