Boston singer Rapta delivers hip-hop that is melodic, honest, and riveting in a way that makes him one of the most exciting young artists to watch. A true student of the game, he touches every part of the process as a producer and engineer and creates music that tells the narrative of a 20-something navigating through life. In the context of such a pivotal year in society, Rapta conceptualized and crafted his best work yet with his upcoming EP luv, leo due in December of 2020. The 5-song project weaves storytelling of the world at large infused with personal anecdotes of love and life. Put simply he remarks, “it reflects everything I’ve been going through with quarantining with the world”. Stringing together musings of relatable topics like long-distance relationships, girls, and family, Rapta puts his heart on his sleeve with a love tape for
the ages.
A self-taught savant who spent his early years teaching himself Protools and Abelton, Rapta dropped out of Bridgewater State University to pursue his passion for music full-time. After early buzzing records like “Lies” and “Chiefin" creating momentum, he gained more traction with the song “Know Your Sign”, and the rest was history. In addition, he created the collective, Luv the Plug, a group of business partners and close confidants to do creative work such as shoot videos and design clothes. In 2016, he headlined his own 12-city tour around America and in 2017 he had the opportunity to perform at the famed House of Blues theater in Boston, MA. Early co-signs from rapper Nawlage helped to also solidify the singer as someone who is here to stay. Asked what he wants to fans to take away from his music, Rapta concludes by saying, “I want them to relate and see the human in me as an artist, take something positive, and heal through music.”
