Raashan Ahmad was born in Trenton, a small industrial town, South of New York. He grew up amidst his father’s mixtapes and jazz vinyl records. In 2004 he creates the Crown City Rockers, a band that has been a landmark in west-coast hip hop, and begins touring in Europe. In 2008 and 2010, he releases two solo albums featuring renowned artists such as Aloe Blacc, that made him famous in Europe, particularly in France. A big traveler, he releases “Ceremony” in 2013 after having met multiple producers around the world (France, Poland, Australia…).
Always on tour, he is mostly famous for his live performances where he displays a show with joy and complete mastery, accompanied by very good musicians usually coming from jazz background.
