R. C. Sproul

R. C. Sproul (1939-2017) was a theologian, pastor, author, founder of Ligonier Ministries, a discipleship resource for pastors and churchmen, and first president of Reformation Bible College. Dr. Sproul has written many books, most notably The Holiness of God, and even dabbled in hymn writing as can be seen in his work with composer Jeff Lippencott. In fact, two of his hymns made it into the Hymns of Grace Hymnal by Grace Community Church & The Master’s Seminary Press.

Sproul has also been a moving force in developing the doctrine of biblical inerrancy and popularizing reformed theology in the Americas. In December of 2017, Dr. Sproul passed away due to the flu that was worsened by his long-running lung disease. Today, Ligonier continues his legacy under the leadership of Chris Larson as well as Reformation Bible College under Stephen Nichols.
