About PRETTYMUCH

PRETTYMUCH, an American-Canadian boyband founded in 2016 (announced on February 14, 2017), was created by Simon Cowell. Their debut single “Would You Mind” kick-starting their career in mid-2017. The four piece, which includes Austin Porter, Brandon Arreaga,, Edwin Honoret and Zion Kuwonu all live together in Los Angeles. For over six years, Nick Mara made the group a five-piece, officially departing from the band in October 2022 on good terms.

In September 2017, PRETTYMUCH released their second single “Teacher” which was followed by “Open Arms” and “No More” which features Moroccan-born rapper French Montana.

2018 was highly eventful for PRETTYMUCH, featuring their first headlining tour Funktion and the release of 7 singles. In one month, two tracks were released: “10,000 Hours” on Valentine’s Day and teased track “Healthy” on March 16. These two singles were then put into PRETTYMUCH’s debut EP: PRETTYMUCH AN EP, which dropped on April 19, 2018. This introduced a never heard before song titled “On My Way” and “Hello,” which had been played at shows since late 2017 and became a single after the EP’s release.

On June 21, they released the single
“Summer on You” that features writing credits from Ed Sheeran. The latter half of 2018 saw three more singles from PRETTYMUCH: “Solita” featuring Rich the Kid in September, “Real Friends” in October and “Jello” in December.

After a short holiday break, PRETTYMUCH were back releasing music once again. January 2019 marked the release of “Blind,” a track that the band had been sitting on for almost a year. Two months later an acoustic version of the track was released, produced by band member Brandon Arreaga.

On April 26, the band released their second single of the year: “Phases.” The track was monumental for the band, garnering over one million streams on Spotify within 48 hours. Following this release, the band held several listening parties for Phases EP making an official announcement on May 17, which revealed the release date, tracklist and album art. “Phases” was the only previously released track included on the EP. Just 4 days before Phases EP was released, the band dropped a surprise single titled “Gone 2 Long,” written and produced by youngest band member Brandon Arreaga. May 24, 2019, marked the release of their Phases EP.

Less than a month later, “Lying” was released, featuring up and coming rapper, Lil Tjay. . Following this, the five-piece sneakily dropped “Rock Witchu” – written and produced by the band themselves.

In October, the band began a new project, introduced by a collaboration with Latin-American boyband CNCO, titled “Me Necesita.” The band went on release their third EP INTL:EP, featuring Iñigo Pascual, Luisa Sonza, and K-pop boy band NCT Dream.

On December 4, 2020, PRETTYMUCH shared a series of promotion images and videos on social media, announcing that they were no longer with Syco and had signed to Sire Records. On social media the band used the slogans “PRETTYMUCH 2.0,” and “DON’T CALL IT A COMEBACK,” whilst also indicating that January 2021 held some importance, even posting a countdown on their website.

Following this, the band went on two release Smackables and Smackables (Deluxe Edition). In 2021, they released two more singles before going quiet on the releases.

In October 2022, the band announced the departure of Nick Mara, releasing their first independent single “H2L” at the same time.
