Pope Locc is a rapper from Los Angeles that signed with Rodney O’s defunct label in 1994 that was set to rival Death Row Records. His debut was the 1994 single “You Better Ask Somebody” where he was rapping alongside Insane Poetry. The record label and his solo album unfortunately never took off – creating a rift between Pope and Rodney O.
He would be featured heavily on Insane Poetry’s 1996 album “Blacc Plague” and also had guest verses on the 1998 album “The Final Chapter” and the 1999 EP “Psychotherapy” – although it is possible that all of these features were recorded during the initial sessions of the defunct Rodney O record label.
