Portland, Oregon born producer Poetics (neé Chandler Sherrill) started rapping before transitioning to music production. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a degree in Music Business. While in Nashville, he met Reflection Music Group artist Canon and the two developed a mentor-protégé relationship around production.
Since starting production in 2015, Poetics has been involved in the production as well as features of close to 100 released songs by artists that include KJ-52, Canon, Dre Murray, Wande, and Byron Juane.
He was chosen by Rapzilla.com to its Freshman Class of 2019, making him the second producer to ever make the list. Poetics has also teamed up for interviews that have been featured on Rapzilla, TrackStarz, and other sites that cover the Christian Hip-hop genre.
On May 5th, 2019, Poetics and KJ-52 released a collaborative LP, What Happened Was…, with features from Dre Murray, Dru Bex, Jodie Jermaine, Mitch Darrell, V. Rose, and Xay Hill.
On October 4th, 2019, Poetics released his debut LP, Burgundy. This project was entirely self-produced, with no features.
