Born on January 4, 1964, Pierre grew up in Chicago with his older brother John, who introduced him to punk rock music as a teenager. Pierre began playing bass in local bands before joining his brother in punk band The Effigies. He then joined the band Naked Raygun in 1982 as a new bassist and became one of the band’s main songwriters. He also played with former Big Black guitarist Santiago Durango in the band Arsenal, as well as participating in other groups like Pegboy and Strike Under. When Naked Raygun broke up in 1990, he continued to play with Pegboy but ultimately left to rejoin Naked Raygun in 2007 when they reunited. Naked Raygun had plans for a comeback album and tour, but Kezdy suffered a stroke in 2011 and was forced to take a break. Pierre still plays with Naked Raygun when they play shows in Chicago. He currently resides in the suburb of Evanston with his family.
