Pierce The Veil is an American post-hardcore band formed in San Diego, California in 2006. They have released five studio albums to date – A Flair for the Dramatic (2007), Selfish Machines (2010), Collide with the Sky (2012) and Misadventures (2016), The Jaws of Life (2023). In September 2022, Pierce the Veil released their comeback single, “Pass the Nirvana” as the first single of the long-awaited fifth record.
The original line-up featured brothers Vic Fuentes and Mike Fuentes, Tony Perry, and Jaime Preciado. Mike Fuentes departed the band in 2017 following sexual misconduct allegations.
Pierce The Veil have incorporated elements of traditional Mexican music into their signature sound, with Vic Fuentes describing it as “mexi-core… basically a mix of heavy music with a little Spanish feel”. In a track-by-track interview for Selfish Machines, Vic Fuentes stated that the band “always [tries] to incorporate at least a hint of Latin influence in every song” and went “all the way with it” for “Besitos”.
