Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth are a hip-hop duo from Mount Vernon, NY formed in 1984.

Pete Rock DJs and MCs, while C.L. Smooth solely MCs. The duo released their very first cut, an EP called All Souled Out, on June 25, 1991.

Next year to the day, their first album Mecca and The Soul Brother (June 9, 1992) came out. In this 16-tracks debut album, we can find the famous “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)” also released on single two months earlier (b/w “The Creator”).

On November 8, 1994, The Main Ingredient was released as their second and last album.
