Perrie first burst on the scene almost a year ago with her viral hit, ‘Shigella’, a diss track of sorts that took aim at a certain tone-deaf song, ‘Salmonella’, from Egyptian influencer, Tameem Younes. Perrie’s story, however, predates that by almost a decade.

A rare example of a female rapper breaking through the ceiling on Egypt’s rap scene, she has gone on to work with the likes of producer, Wezza Montaser, collaborated with shaabi legend, Ortega, and counts Abyusif as something of a mentor. It’s been a brief but memorable ride for the Egyptian-Moroccan, but one that’s still at its beginning.
