Pekka Pohjola was a Finnish multi-instrumentalist and composer. He first rose to fame as the bassist in prog-rock group Wigwam in the early 1970s, and played in groups such as Made In Sweden, The Group and on tour with Mike Oldfield. Many of his highly praised solo albums are a special mix of jazz, rock and classical styles, one of them famously being sampled on DJ Shadow’s Endtroducing…. He died on November 27, 2008.
