For a while the epitome of hippie cool in America, Peggy Lipton (1946-2019) started modeling and acting after her New York family moved to Los Angeles in 1964. Her performance as an undercover police detective in The Mod Squad made her famous, but she gave up acting for some years to marry Quincy Jones and raise her daughters Kidada Jones and Rashida Jones. She recorded a self-titled pop album in 1968 and acted on the series Twin Peaks in the 1980s.
