Paul Lavon Davis, born April 21, 1948, was a singer/songwriter of pop, blue-eyed soul and country hits. He once held the record for the longest chart run on the Billboard Hot 100 for his 1977 #7 hit “I Go Crazy” which was also his first American Top 10 single. He is also well known for his pop hits “Cool Night” which hit #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart and “‘65 Love Affair” which was Top 10 on both Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary. He had two successful country collaborations, “You’re Still New to Me” with Marie Osmond in 1986 and “I Won’t Take Less Than Your Love” with Tanya Tucker and Paul Overstreet. He died on April 22, 2008.
