Paul Cooper was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1952. He took violin and piano lessons from the age of 4 and finally picked up the guitar for the first time at age 13.
He formed a band, the Pawns, which led to an opening act for Diana Ross & the Supremes in Philadelphia.
He played guitar on the “Sugar Blue’s New York Blues” section of the album “New York Really Has the Blues” in 1974 for Victoria Spivey’s label.
He played in Europe from 1978 up until 1984 where he returned to his hometown, went back to Europe for two more years, then finally returned home permanently in 1987.
His album “GaGa” was recorded in 1998, and combined everything he had learned about guitar into a singular album.
