Jahron Anthony Brathwaite, better known by his stage name PARTYNEXTDOOR, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer from Mississauga, a suburb West of Toronto.
His stage name originated from a filter preset in a digital audio workstation called ‘FL Studio’, which gives a sound similar to the one created by Drake’s in house producer Noah ‘40’ Shebib.
Party actually went on to sign with Drake’s “OVO Sound” record label, and has released seven projects thus far under the label: PARTYNEXTDOOR, PARTYNEXTDOOR 2, PNDCOLOURS, PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 (P3), COLOURS 2, the Seven Days – EP, and PARTYMOBILE.
Before reaching stardom, PND performed under the name ‘Jahron B’, making more simple and bare R&B songs. These would later be repackaged as a huge 75 track compilation entitled Jahron B Collection.
Party has also showcased his impressive writing abilities, landing credits on Drake’s Nothing Was The Same, IYRTITL, Views, and More Life. He also landed his first number one record as a writer on Rihanna’s smash hit “Work,” and earned a second number one writing “Wild Thoughts” by DJ Khaled.
