The year was 2017…
Over beer and light snacks…
Orbital Junction was born! With the self-imposed mandate of delivering only the hardest hitting stoner grooves, they wanted to honour their heroes like Wo Fat and Orange Goblin while setting their sights on the success of Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age.
The fusion of the four led to a hastily recorded demo and its viral rampage across the internet. People liked what they were hearing.
2018 started the whirlwind ride, from their first humble show in March in Earls Court, Orbital Junction have to date played over 50 shows across the UK, supporting the likes of Child, RIP and Nightstalker
The same year, the band wrote and recorded their debut self-titled EP (Orbital Junction in case you hadn’t made the connection – search it up, it’s fantastic!), with the heavy lifting behind the desk by Chris Fielding (that guy from Conan) at Skyhammer Studio.
It seemed that Orbital Junction had done something right and were invited to play the mighty Desertfest London (2019). A massive honour for the band, who had previously completed the annual pilgrimage to Camden as punters and music fans. 2020 started off with a true bang, when they were asked back to play again – this time at a bigger venue, it’s going to be huge!
So, where next? Expect to see the band bring their hard-hitting sound, crushing venues under the weight of their huge riffs and pummelling beats. Plans are in motion for a European tour so the band can boast about their ever-growing snack pallet. And new music is being created right now (like right now, while you’re reading this!), and all indications are that the band’s ever evolving sound is delivering nothing short of utter genius (again).
As standouts in the UK stoner rock scene, expect Orbital Junction to continue their rise to the challenge of delivering the goods. You’re all invited along for the ride, the bus is in gear, snacks are being cracked open, and the back seats have been reserved for only the most diehard of followers.
