Ølsten is the alias of songwriter, producer, and director Miro Strahilov. Born in Bulgaria and raised in Chicago, his nomadic upbringing shaped his connection to music as a form of expression. Operating as an independent auteur, he combines audio, visuals, and words to create immersive worlds for others to explore.

Picking up music production at a young age, Ølsten started his journey in his bedroom where he would spend most of this time creating. As time went on, he began to explore various mediums of expression, enriching the worlds he wanted to build through his music. This led him to collaborate with like-minded artists, incorporating their unique perspectives into his body of work.

Amidst the 2020 pandemic, Ølsten founded his own creative studio “forty four”, where he started to work on bigger and bolder projects, such as a VR experience for his album “ELENΛ”, as well as a short film and video game that are currently in production. Remaining true to his creative vision, Ølsten continues to harness the ever-evolving tools of technology to materialize his ideas in our world.
