While Ogden Nash (1902-1971) wrote some song lyrics, he is better known for his light verse, often short poems using neologisms, national stereotypes, and barbs aimed at religious leaders and political conservatives for humor. His one major foray into songwriting was his collaboration with Kurt Weill on the Broadway musical One Touch of Venus.
