Official髭男dism, Higedan (ヒゲダン), was formed in Shimane, Japan, on June 7, 2012 by graduates of the Matsue National College of Technology and Shimane University in Shin'an, Japan and are a piano band, as described on their profile on their website.

The members consist of Satoshi Fujihara (藤原聡) (lead vocals, piano), Daisuke Ozasa (小笹大輔) (lead guitar, backing vocals), Makoto Narazaki (楢崎誠) (bass, saxophone, backing vocals) and Masaki Matsubura (松原正樹) (drums, percussion, backing vocals).

After signing a record deal with the label Pony Canyon in 2018, they released their major debut single “No Doubt”, the lead single from the extended play, Stand by You.

The following year, the band released the second single, “Pretender”, which ranked at number three on the year-end chart of Billboard Japan Hot 100 in 2019.

Their debut studio album Traveler was released on October 9th of 2019 and reached number one on the Japan Albums Chart.
