Obijuan is a solo Bahamian Hip-Hop Artist and half of the cloak-and-dagger recording duo languid.oceans. Although presently based in the USA, Obi was born in Nassau, on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas. Raised in between the city and the family islands, Obi has been fully immersed in both West Indian & American culture since birth; leading to Hip-Hop and music in general being a consistently prominent influence throughout Obi’s entire life. Albeit he has been writing and recording rap music for well over a decade, Obi’s music started to generate a significant buzz after his first vinyl release in 2017; following a plethora of mixtapes over the years. After constant releases and series of small tours spread out over European countries (including Austria, Germany and the UK), Obi was able to stir up a small wave with his particularly gritty, off-kilter sound. In 2019 Obi made his first official mark on the underground with ‘THE KING’S WISHES’; a record produced by noteworthy New Jersey based artist, GRiMM Doza. It was the first collaboration with Bad Taste and Obi has continued to steadily release range of different EP’s and LP’s both in collaboration with Bad Taste & completely independently since, selling over 1,500 vinyl records and counting.
