NXO ( pronounced Nico) A Illinois Bred MC born and raised in the Chicago-land area better known for his swift creativity and very animated personality started his journey back when he was just six years of age. Watching the culture from Chicago from big names like Do or Die Twister Gcount Kanye West, Common and later years Chance the Rapper NXO took the pen and pad to become something smooth and clever.

Growing up his sound influences was a mixture of the Midwest sound and culture from genres like Ghetto Technical and the House era and a crafty mix of Southern/East Coast vibes. NXO was introduced to studios at the age of 16 when his mentor and rapper (Sole..) booked sessions having NXO featured on his first LP named “Capricornia” from there NXO felt it was his official start as an artist. He would go on to do features with local Chicago underground artist such as Nyanga, EJP and Vic Spencer.

NXO graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School in 2013 he received an acceptance letter to Tennessee State University where he would study mass communication after taking a year away from music and not having his own music out yet he started free styling around campus on their radio stations and local open mics to build his Tennessee buzz where he landed a spot to compete in BET College Tour the Freestyle Battle and winning first place opened up numerous networks in Tennessee as well as a musical bond with Memphis native Tee-Top that helped gain fans from other artist and producers around the Midwest and southern communities.

In early 2014 NXO signed with This is the Sound with a chance to be an artist alongside artist and super producer Dubba-AA (Double A) to cultural change music forever. His goals in music are to make a difference with a difference while bringing his animated personality and speaking the truth for every ear to hear NXO plans to become more than just an MC but a thoroughbred entrepreneur that can change the world
