Novel Core was born on January 18th, 2001, as Tarou Satake (佐竹太朗; Satake Tarou), in Tokyo, Japan, and is a singer-songwriter and rapper who gained an interest in the genre after discovering it on YouTube in 2015.

Shortly after, in 2016, he began rapping at rap battles under the stage name Core-Boy. In 2018, he would appear on SKY-HI’s track “FREE TOKYO”; the track was the first song in which he would use the name Novel Core. In the same year, he also released his first single, entitled Metafiction as an indie artist. One year later, Novel Core released his first EP as an indie artist titled CORE OF THE in 2019.

The 2018 collaboration with SKY-HI left such a good impression, that he would sign him to his artist management label – BMSG – in October of 2020 and also signed to the record label B-ME under avex where he made his major label debut with the digital single “SOBER ROCK”.
