Nora Dean, born in Spanish Town in 1944, started singing with The Ebony Sisters, The Soul Sisters and the Soulettes (with Rita Marley and Cecile Campbell).
Then she started recording as a solo artist, releasing her first single Barbwire, which become a number one hit.
After some collaborations, in the mid-‘70s she moved to New York and married.
She returned after a few decades as a gospel artist and released two albums.
She died in 2016, aged 72.
