After splitting with Oasis due to arguments with his brother Liam, Noel Gallagher returned to the music scene with his solo project, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
The self-title debut album was released in July, 2011. Preceded by single “The Death of You and Me”, it was well-received by critics and debuted at number one in the UK Albums Charts, selling 122,530 copies in its first week and becoming the second biggest-selling rock album of 2011 in the UK. The follow-up album, Chasing Yesterday, was released February 25th, 2015 to generally positive reviews and reached number one in the UK charts. The third album, Who Built the Moon, was released on November 24th, 2017.
