No, Really was a band formed by musician Hannah Sheehan, who was the only member during its active years.
Sheehan formed the band in January 2006 but wouldn’t release any music until April with the Thousand Yard Stare EP.
No, Really would then move from Springfield, Missouri to San Diego, where she would play live at local restaurants and cafés while also writing new songs at SCM Recordings in Santee.
In October 2006, the Acoustic Demos album was released, which featured the demo of Molten, which would become the band’s most listened song on Jamendo.
Over the course of December 2006 to July 2007, Sheehan wrote and recorded songs that would be posted to her MetaFilter as she worked on a new No, Really album. These songs would later be finalized and recorded on a single day in July of 2007, culminating into the final album by No, Really: Rust.
The album was Sheehan’s first success as No, Really, with Citizen, Go Back to Sleep being the album’s most listened track on Jamendo by 2020.
After the release of Rust, Sheehan had plans to write and release a new album in 2009, but nothing ever became of these plans and No, Really had become defunct by 2011.
Today, No, Really mostly finds life from players of the online gaming platform ROBLOX, with the song Rust becoming an unofficial staple of its history.
Sheehan, on the other hand, does her fair share of journalling and hasn’t released music in any band since 2018.
