Formerly known as Malice, and born Gene Thornton, No Malice is a Virginia Beach, VA-based rapper, best known for his work with Clipse alongside his brother Pusha T. Clipse helped define the “coke rap” genre in the 2000s, starting with their critically-acclaimed 2002 debut album Lord Willin.
Thornton is a born-again Christian, and changed his name from “Malice” to “No Malice” in 2012 to reflect his faith. He also published a 2011 memoir called Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked, recounting his rap and drug dealing careers, his fear that he had HIV, and his religious conversion.
He released his first solo album, Hear Ye Him, in 2013.
