Nita Strauss is a Los Angeles-born guitarist, best known as the lead guitarist in Alice Cooper’s on-tour band, a role she’s occupied since 2014.
First gaining notoriety in 2011 with her tribute band the Iron Maidens, Nita Strauss is one of the top female shredders, nicknamed ‘the Hurricane’ by her fans and fellow artists.
Active since 2003, Strauss has been involved with a number of artists, demonstrating her range and flexibility as a guitarist, not only in the genre of heavy metal. Artists she has collaborated with include Kill Slowly, As Blood Runs Black, Jermaine Jackson, Consume the Fire, Femme Fatal, Critical Hit, the Star Breakers, We Start Wars, and the Guitar Collective. Nita Strauss has also released one wildly popular solo album, 2018’s Controlled Chaos, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top New Artists chart and making at least the top 20 on several others, including the iTunes Rock chart, where the album hit No.7.
Strauss was a member of the LA Kiss House Band in 2014, and has performed at WWE and other sporting events as a guest player, reflecting her growing popularity with the public, especially in her hometown of Los Angeles.
An accomplished guitar technician, Strauss has made numerous instructional videos and articles for Guitar World and Premier Guitar magazines. She also appeared in the 2017 documentary Hired Gun, about the rising stars in popular artists’ bands.
