Ferhan Nil Karaibrahimgil, born 17 October 1976, is a Turkish singer and songwriter, mostly noted for her distinct lyrics. Nil’s passion and admiration for music stems from her father, Suavi Karaibrahimgil, who was an active musician in the Turkish music industry during her childhood. Many of Nil’s songs deal with love, marriage, and relationships, spanning the genres Pop Rock, Alternative Rock, and Dance-Pop. She is currently signed under Sony Music and has been active in the music scene since 1998.
In 2000, Nil graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Political Science and International Relations and also found some success in advertising, having received the Crystal Apple prize twice. She has written articles for the weekly newspaper Hürriyet since 2004. She married Serdar Erener in January of 2010, with whom she has had a son, Aziz Arıf, since May of 2014.
