Nike, who takes its name after the Greek goddess of victory, is one of the most influential and well-known sports companies around the world. It sponsors both big teams and athletes alike—such as powerhouses FC Barcelona and LeBron James.

The brand’s logo is the Swoosh (or check) which features on clothing, shoes and other products, and is possibly the most recognisable logo to date. Nike’s slogan is also “Just do it”, which came into effect in 1988 and supposedly stems from a murderer’s famous last words.
