About Nicola Holliday

An acoustic force to be reckoned with, Nicola fuses her vibrant emotive sound with her favourite genres and influences. A raw voice, wise beyond its years meets pop, jazz, blues, funk and country to create her forthcoming EP ‘Distracted’, to be released independently within the next 3 months.
Nicola, a northern monkey with a wealth of musical experience began her her journey with a silver yamaha trumpet at the tender age of 7! From then on there was no stopping her musical aspirations. Nicola played throughout Scarborough and North Yorkshire with the E.A.S.Y Concert bands where she became a lead vocalist for youth jazz band Jazz Train aged just 12, something she holds very dear to her heart and attributes much of her musical aspirations too. This and a rather eccentric but extremely dedicated tutor Mr Geoffrey Marshal!
Since then Nicola has trained with the Advanced Performers Studios at the Royal Academy of Music and The London College of Music specialising in Vocals, earning a BMus in Popular Music Performance.
Whilst doing so she has never been short of musical projects in and out of the studio, working as a backing vocalist for a variety of artists including The Stow, Trudi Mosiamo, Zophia Amey and ALex Mills, performing at Glastonbury, Koko Camden, Nosztok Festival, Jazz Cafe and JJ’s SoulShack. As well as a backing vocalist Nicola performs as a an acoustic duo throughout London and also as a resident musician for 6 months last year at the luxury Couples retreat, Island Hotel in Crete, Greece, all whilst penning her very EP too! This lady don’t stop!!!
