About Abbey Road Studios, London, UK Abbey Road Studios is colloquially known as "the most famous recording studio in the world" for its association with The Beatles' iconic discography. Formerly known as "EMI Recording Studios," it was established in late 1931 by the Gramophone Company- pioneers of English audio technology at the time.

in 1968 and for the first six years worked in the studios with many notable artists including: The Beatles, John Lennon & the Plastic Ono Band, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Roy Wood, Mary Hopkins, Spike Milligan, Phil Spector, Procol Harum, Pretty Things, Pink Floyd and Roy Harper. He was also involved in classical sessions with such world-renowned artists as Andre Previn, Sir Adrian Boult and Sir John Barbirolli.

In 1974, Nick moved into disc cutting and mastering and has seen many changes in both the equipment used and the type and styles of music being made. Today, Nick masters using the original EMI TG 12410 transfer desk with analogue outboard gear, Sonic Solutions as the central digital workstation and digital eq. For vinyl disc-cutting, Nick uses a Neumann DMM lathe.

Over the years, Nick has worked with a wide variety of artists and bands including Queen, Paul McCartney, Sir Cliff Richard, Small Faces, Iron Maiden, Mick Jagger/The Rolling Stones, Sky, Carl Davis, Pink Floyd, The Shadows, Kraftwerk, XTC, Tears For Fears, Talk Talk, The Waterboys, Paul Weller, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Ride, Vent, Crowded House, Paul Young, Blade, Primal Scream, Oasis, Pet Shop Boys, UB40, Ian Anderson, Leo Sayer, Hurrican No. 1, Thirst, Midget, Wishbone Ash, Matthew Jay, Brian Eno, Stereolab, Smog, Fugazi and Shellac.
