Born and raised in Saint Louis, NAB began his music career as virtually a unproven talent amongst his peers. The early sounds of hip-hop music (Eric B & Rakim, Kool G Rap & DJ Polo, D-Nice, UTFO, Whodini…etc) were introduced to him at a young age by his older cousin and the instant love relationship between him and the music was formed.
Although as a lover of music, the creative efforts behind it and its many styles, the majority of his life growing up did not involve music creation until after he graduated from high school. In 1998 at the height of the NAS classic entitled “I AM…” he begin going to studio sessions with neighborhood friend (J.R.) and fell in love with beat making. They eventually in 2001 would join together and form what became known as So Hot Productions.
While at So Hot Productions, NAB enjoyed quite a bit of success while working primarily as a music producer and for a time was the main recording engineer for So Hot Productions. In 2006 The Cross Movement’s Higher Definition album was nominated during the 48th Annual Grammy awards but would eventually lose to Audio Adrenaline. That same year hip-hop artist Da Truth would take home his first Stellar award for The Faith.
In 2008 NAB launched Absolute Truth Music officially ending his tenure as a producer and recording engineer with long time friend (J.R) and So Hot Productions. Responsible for the introduction of synthesizers laced with heavy bass drums and rythmic grooves, the sound they crafted together within the faith-based genre of hip-hop music still remains as one of the defining and trendsetting moments in its history.
