About My Brightest Diamond

My Brightest Diamond is a project consisting of one person, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Shara Nova. The band was signed to Asthmatic Kitty until 2015. As of 2018, the band is signed to Rhyme & Reason Records.

My Brightest Diamond is usually classified as chamber or art rock. While the primary instrument is guitar (notably electric guitars), Shara has also used other instruments like (electric and acoustic) pianos, ukulele, mbira, and synthesizers, often backed by strings and other orchestral instruments.

Former collaborators include; Earl Harvin, Chris Bruce, Zac Rae, Brian Wolfe, Nathan Lithgow, Rob Moose, CJ Camerieri, Hideaki Aomori, Alex Sopp, Nadia Sirota, Clarice Jensen, Marla Hansen, Olivier Manchon and Maria Bella Jeffers.
