About MVP (Memphis)

Cornell McFaden, better known as MVP, is a rapper and producer from the Southside of Memphis, TN. He’s the founder of Monsta Klick and has worked with several local Memphis artists such as: Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Lil Gin, Gangsta Blac, DJ Paul, Juicy J, 211, DJ Squeeky, and many more.

Cornell made his debut in 1995, with his solo album C.L.O.U.T. That same year, he independently released Lil Gin’s iconic solo album Shake Junt through his label, Pure Erb Records. While he produced half the tracks on Shake Junt, its release stirred up some controversy. He dropped the album without Lil Gin or Skinny’s approval, which has led some to label it a bootleg. Despite that, it’s considered an “unofficial official pressing” by many fans.

In 2000, MVP dropped The Shine: Monsta Klick Book 2 with his crew, Monsta Klick.
