About Mustard Plug

Formed in 1991, Mustard Plug is a ska punk band from Grand Rapids, Michigan, making music solely because, in Jim Hofer’s words, “…we love it and we want people to lighten up and have fun”. The line-up includes: Dave Kirchgessner (vocals), Brendon Jenson (trumpet), Jim Hofer (trombone), Nate Cohn (drums), Colin Clive (guitar/vocals), and Rick Johnson (bass).

The band has toured with the Warped Tour several times, as well as participating in the Ska Against Racism tour. In 2015, Mustard Plug covered fellow ska punk band Rancid’s song “Roots Radical” for the compilation album, Hooligans United. They have never achieved any significant mainstream success.
