Alex Crossan (born 5 April 1996 in Guernsey, Channel Islands), also known by the stage name Mura Masa (sometimes stylised as mura masa) is an English DJ, electronic music producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His stage name is taken from Japanese sword-smith Muramasa Sengo.
He’s also the founder of Anchor Point Records.
After performing and working with music in a variety of genres in his teens, he began to focus on electronic music. At age 17, his career began to take flight as his track “Lotus Eater” was picked up by BBC Radio 1, and played by Zane Lowe and Annie Mac. He gained more attention for his 2014 mixtape Soundtrack to a Death, and his 2015 EP Someday Somewhere. His 2017 debut album, entitled Mura Masa, included tracks featuring American rapper Desiigner and British Pop Artist Charli XCX.
