Mudd the Student, born Yoon Seung-min (윤승민), is a South Korean artist. He chose his stage name since he liked the way the word ‘Mudd’ sounded, and how ‘Student’ reflected his idea of everyone having something to learn. He has described himself not as a rapper, but as an artist or a singer-songwriter.

He rose to prominence by participating in the rapper audition show Show Me The Money 10, where he finished in the top 8. He is a part of the alternative multinational K-pop collective Balming Tiger. He has cited Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr, among other acts, as his musical influences.

He is best known for songs “이끼 (MOSS)” and “불협화음 (Dissonance).” He was also included in Balming Tiger’s 2022 collaboration “섹시느낌 (SEXY NUKIM)” with RM of BTS.
