Monica Birkenes, better known by her stage name “Mr. Little Jeans,” is a Norwegian singer-songwriter from Grimstad, Norway. She signed to the independent record label Neon Gold back in 2010, growing popularity with her cover of Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs,” released on May 26th, 2011.

Now based in Los Angeles, Birkenes often collaborates with local producer Tim Anderson, who was instrumental in creating her first project. On March 25th, 2014, she released her debut record Pocketknife under Harvest Records.

The pseudonym “Mr. Little Jeans” is inspired by Kumar Pallana’s character in the 1998 Wes Anderson film, Rushmore.
