MONSTA X (몬스타엑스) is a South Korean hip-hop-influenced K-Pop boy group formed by Starship Entertainment in 2015. The seven (now six) members were chosen through the survival show “NO. MERCY”. The members include Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Joohoney, Hyungwon, and I.M. Ex-member Wonho announced his departure from the group on October 31st, 2019.
The group has released successful singles, EPs, and albums including hits like “DRAMARAMA”, “Jealousy”, and “Shoot Out”. The latter was also released in English marking their American debut.
In 2016, the group was awarded the “Best of Next Male Artist Award” at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards. In 2018, they became the first K-Pop act to tour as part of KISS-FM Jingle Ball Concert Series.
MONSTA X released an English song called “Who Do U Love?” with Epic Records featuring French Montana. The song peaked at #29 on the US Pop Songs Airplay Chart, making them the third K-Pop artist to enter the chart. The song was later included on their debut English-language album, “All About Luv” released in early 2020.
