Mono (usually stylized as MONO) is a Japanese instrumental band, mostly focused on avant-rock and contemporary classical music, formed in 1999 in Tokyo. The band consists of Takaakira “Taka” Goto (electric guitar, glockenspiel), Hideki “Yoda” Suematsu (electric guitar, glockenspiel), Dahm Majuri Cipolla (drums), and Tamaki Kunishi (bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, glockenspiel).
One of Mono’s main musical trademarks is the frequent use of effects such as delay, reverb and distortion on both lead and rhythm guitar: this is one of the elements which characterize the intensity of the band’s concerts.
