Molombo is a Congolese-American artist from Colorado, bent on uplifting the spirits of his listeners through storytelling and empowering the people through community. His lyrical manifesto is as diverse as the sounds in his music; laid back pop-trap with a slice of life aspect, pop-punk personal mementos of an alt black experience, and hip-hop rock that rages against systemic exploitation. But there’s also a sentimental, spiritual side to Molombo’s “Hero Trap” and like any hero, Molombo finds time to add punch, pizazz, hyperpop sex appeal to his well rounded character.
