Mixtape Madness first began in 1997 as a passion project between a group of friends with the aim to create a safe space for young people to share their music online. Inspired by an array of artists on their estate, the CEO’s found a gap in the market that couldn’t go missed!
Having accumulated a boast-worthy reputation, the developing platform was shortly labelled as Mixtape Madness by their community and was soon adopted as the company’s name. In becoming the go-to home for UK mixtapes, Mixtape Madness was dubbed as the British alternative to the likes of DatPiff.
Over the years, it has grown into a music discovery platform that has become a paramount infrastructure for empowering emerging artists within British Rap and the surrounding sub-genres.
Having played a leading role within music discovery, talent acquisition and content curation for UK artists, they are now thoroughly woven into the fabric of the UK’s youth culture.
In recent times, this has been showcased via an assortment of profound talents including M Huncho, Digga D, KO, Kilo Jugg, SL, Abra Cadabra, Rushy, J Hus and Headie One at the early stages of their careers.
Throughout the last decade, Mixtape Madness has grown into a 7-figure business and in turn accumulated over 1 million subscribers and 820 million views. In fabricating a highly acclaimed platform that has helped transform not only how break-through artists are championed but also how freestyle platforms were curated, they are also home to the iconic ‘Mad About Bars’ and ‘Next Up?’ freestyles alongside British tastemaker Kenny Allstar.
Giving back to the community is something that they pride themselves in, through designing in-depth ‘#MMTalks’ that provide budding professionals with the opportunity to network and learn from some of the best within their chosen fields, Mixtape Madness has helped visualise the future for many up and coming creatives.
Having previously partnered up with an array of reputable brands including BooHoo MAN, Adidas and FIFA eSports just to name a few, as well as bagging a Screen Nation Award in 2019 for ‘Favorite Music Entertainment Website’ – there legacy speaks for itself!
With the intent to only grow bigger, enhance their label roster and empower new talent, Mixtape Madness, going forward are determined to exceed creative boundaries and continue to create opportunities for the aspiring youth.
