Ánh Nhật Lê, known by her stage name Miu Lê, was born on July 5, 1991 in Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam.
Miu Lê’s entry to the world of entertainment happened by accident, as she admitted that during her youth, her mother forced her to attend a modeling class in order to fix her bad posture and to lose weight. During that time, she was chosen to play a role in a movie, but the movie was never released. This later led her to switching careers and signing a contract to NewGen Entertainment where she debuted as an actress and singer.
Miu’s name comes from a character she played called July Miu, when she was starting out in the industry, while Lê came from her last name. In the early days in her career, she struggled to find fame with her old agency, thus leading her to leave and signing with Avatar Entertainment.
In 2015, she made her breakthrough as an actress starring in the lead role of Em Là Bà Nội Của Anh also known as Sweet 20, which is the official Vietnamese adaptation of the South Korean hit film 수상한 그녀 also known as Miss Granny. The role also helped to skyrocket Lê’s music career, as she has since gone on to make hit after hit, which include “Yêu Một Người Có Lẽ” featuring Lou Hoàng, “Còn Thương Thì Không Để Em Khóc”, “Giá Như Cô Ấy Chưa Xuất Hiện”, and “Gác Lại Âu Lo” with DaLAB.
