Milo Aukerman is an American singer and molecular biologist, most notable for being the lead singer of the punk band Descendents. Aukerman inspired the mascot for the band, as has been one of the only consistent members of the band, alongside founding drummer Bill Stevenson. Following the band’s 1982 debut album Milo Goes to College, Aukerman received his first degree in biology, and continued to pursue a PhD. In between Descendents albums, Aukerman has worked in molecular biology, including chemical company DuPont.
